Mr. Daniel Zhekov from the city of Varna contacted our international patient services department with complaints in the field of Neurosurgery. Mr. Zhekov shared with us that he had been experiencing lower back pain, severe pain and numbness in the lower extremities for some time. After evaluation of the MRI scan sent by our patient, he was invited to our hospital for surgical treatment. After the necessary arrangements were made, our patient arrived at the hospital, and Mr. Zhekov's case was taken over by Dr. Oguz YOZEL. After a detailed physical examination and re-evaluation of the MRI, it was decided that implant-free decompression surgery for lumbar stenosis could be applied in the patient's case. The patient was recommended a microsurgical intervention for spinal stenosis decompression at the L4-L5 level without the use of a spinal stabilization system.
The surgical intervention was successfully performed the following day. We are happy that we discharged Mr. Zhekov on the second day after the operation, in good general condition, without pain or complaints. Upon his discharge, he shared with us that it was precisely because of the proposed microsurgical approach that he decided to undergo treatment at our hospital, as previously other healthcare facilities had mainly offered him only surgical intervention with the use of implants and stabilization systems.
We thank him for choosing us and trusting us. We wish our patient a life filled with much health and happy moments.
