Our Patient Mr. Stoyan Turnov Came from the Kingdom of Sweden to Permanently Solve His Weight Problems

Mr. Stoyan Turnov, who has been living in the Kingdom of Sweden for many years, contacted our International Patients department upon the recommendation of a friend and stated that he wanted to find a lasting solution for his problems related to excess weight. After detailed preparation for his visit, our patient was met by our colleagues at Istanbul Airport and was transported to our hospital in the city of Corlu.

Mr. Turnov case was taken over by Dr. Mustafa Yonder DOLAP – Specialist in General and Bariatric Surgery and Deputy Chief Physician of our hospital. During the consultation with Dr. Mustafa Yonder DOLAP, our patient was provided with detailed information about the most appropriate treatment method for his case – the "Sleeve Gastrectomy" procedure, which was determined based on the Body Mass Index and the individual characteristics of Mr. Turnov.

On the same day, our patient underwent a detailed comprehensive examination, consisting of physical examinations by specialists from various fields such as: Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Psychiatry, Nutrition and Dietetics. A series of blood tests and radiological investigations, fibrogastroscopy, abdominal ultrasound, and others were also performed. Based on the results of the conducted investigations, it was determined that there were no medical obstacles to performing the surgical procedure.

The surgical procedure was successfully performed the following day, and then our patient was returned to our surgical department for postoperative monitoring. During his hospitalized treatment, Mr. Turnov was provided with detailed information about the proper nutritional regimen for him and was given detailed recommendations by our nutrition and dietetics specialist – Cigdem Kiral. After one week of hospitalization and monitoring, our patient was discharged from the hospital smiling and in good general condition.
