Op. Dr. Oguz YOZEL – Specialist in Brain and Neurosurgery at Corlu Vatan Hospital shared:
"Our 75-year-old patient, Mrs. Hafize Yoztok, came from the city of Izmit for the intervention: Implant-Free Spinal Stenosis Decompression by Microsurgical Method.
Over the past three years, Mrs. Yoztok had been experiencing complaints and problems related to her gait and difficulties while walking. At all healthcare centers she had visited previously, she was told that a surgical intervention with the placement of spinal implants was necessary to solve the problem, but due to her age and the presence of osteoporosis, she could not be operated on, and that she had to accept and get used to this pain.
Our patient came from the city of Izmit to Corlu Vatan Hospital upon the recommendation of her relatives. After a thorough physical examination and detailed investigations, we determined that in this case it was appropriate to perform an intervention by microsurgical method without the placement of implants.
Since the patient underwent a spinal stenosis decompression intervention by microsurgical method without the placement of implants, the postoperative period went smoothly and our patient recovered in a short time. Three hours after the completion of the intervention, Mrs. Yoztok was mobilized in the presence of our specialist and began walking independently without difficulty.
The patient age, the presence of osteoporosis, and chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension did not prevent the surgical intervention from being performed. The intervention was carried out without any problems and Mrs. Yoztok was discharged the following day in good general condition without pain or complaints."
We are happy that yet another one of our patients has recovered their health through implant-free spinal stenosis decompression surgery.
