Phacoemulsification

Our patient Mr. Stoil Georgiev from the Republic of Bulgaria contacted the international patient department of our hospital. He shared with us his complaints related to decreased vision.

The patient was invited to our hospital for an examination and investigations. Mr. Georgiev case was taken over by Dr. Cigdem Akdaa Kocer – Specialist in Ophthalmology.

After detailed investigations, it was determined that our patient had a cataract in the left eye and retinal vascular occlusion in both eyes.

During a single surgical intervention, cataract removal (Phacoemulsification) of the left eye and intravitreal injection of the right eye were performed.

Treatment continues with laser therapy of the areas with vascular occlusion.

As a result of the conducted treatment, we have already observed a significant improvement in the patient vision. With the help of argon laser therapy, we aim to permanently preserve the achieved results.

Mr. Georgiev expressed his gratitude to Dr. Cigdem Akdaa Kocer and our colleagues from the international patient services department, who were by his side at every stage of his treatment.
