Mr. Erol Alev was admitted to our hospital with complaints of stomach pain, nausea, loss of appetite, and drastic weight loss over the last few months. His physical examination was performed by Op. Dr. Ferudun Bikmaz - General Surgery Specialist, who continues to provide adequate treatment to his patients with his successful interventions in the field of general surgery. After listening to the patient's complaints and completing the physical examination, the specialist's medical opinion was that a Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy needed to be performed to determine the exact cause of his complaints. After the respective examinations were performed, the patient was diagnosed with "Colon Cancer".
Mr. Erol Alev was admitted to the surgical ward of our hospital, which has maximum security regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. After the preoperative preparation and additional tests such as Contrast CT Scan and others, it was decided that in this particular case, the intervention would be performed using the Laparoscopic Method. After the completion of the surgery, the patient was monitored for three days, after which he was discharged in good general condition. One week after being discharged, Mr. Erol Alev visited us for a follow-up examination.
After completing the follow-up examination, Op. Dr. Ferudun Bikmaz stated that the patient had no complaints or complications after the surgery, the recovery period after applying laparoscopic surgery for cancer treatment is much shorter and patients return to their normal daily life much more quickly.
