On the eve of the 40th anniversary of Corlu Vatan Hospital, one of the prominent physicians in our Oncological Surgery Clinic and also Deputy Chief Physician – Op. Dr. Mustafa Yonder DOLAP, emphasizes the importance of quality and reliable surgery, especially in gastrointestinal cancer. He stresses the fact that it is possible to overcome these serious diseases with early diagnosis and proper treatment.
Our patient Andrey Mihaylov Apostolov (50 years old), from Bulgaria contacted the International Patient Services Department of Corlu Vatan Hospital with complaints such as drastic weight loss, stomach pain and heartburn, and changes in bowel habits persisting for a year. After a conversation with the patient, the necessary arrangements were made and an appointment was scheduled at our General Surgery Clinic. A few days later, the patient arrived at the hospital and after a physical examination and tests, a gastroscopy was ordered. During the gastroscopy, suspicious areas were detected from which samples were taken for pathological examination.
After the pathological examination diagnosed a malignant tumor, a surgical intervention targeting the stomach tumor was planned. In this particular case, the intervention "Laparoscopic Subtotal Gastrectomy" was recommended.
After Mr. Apostolov arrived at our hospital on the day of the intervention, all necessary tests and preoperative preparations were completed and the patient was admitted to the operating room. The intervention was successfully performed by Op. Dr. Mustafa Yonder DOLAP – General Surgery Specialist. Since the intervention was performed using the laparoscopic method (bloodless method), the patient was on his feet on the second day after the surgery and after a total of four days of hospitalization, we discharged the patient in good general condition.
The entire team at Corlu Vatan Hospital wishes Mr. Apostolov days filled with health.
