Our patient from Australia arrived at our hospital with complaints of lower back pain, numbness, and pain along the left leg. She shared with us that she had undergone two previous surgical interventions for disc herniation treatment.
The patient case was taken over by Dr. Oguz YOZEL – Specialist in Neurosurgery. After a meticulous physical examination and imaging investigations, it was determined that our patient condition required a new surgical intervention. The patient was offered the surgical procedure "Microdiscectomy and Foraminotomy," aimed at removing the herniated portion of the intervertebral disc causing pressure on the nerve roots, and widening the spinal canal in the corresponding section of the spine.
One day after the successfully completed surgical intervention, our patient was discharged in good health condition, having said goodbye to the complaints present upon her admission to the hospital.
